Recorded Live, In Concert (2 CD set)

After a recent concert at the University of Western Alabama in Livingston, AL, Hotlanta was presented with this recording of our performance.

CD-1 is the first half of that concert. What you hear is just as it happened that night. No editing, high tech tweaking, or studio enhancements, just the fun and spontaneity of a live performance.

During intermission the audience writes down their requests from a list in their program. CD-2 is the latter half of the concert when we perform these requests. Bill Rutan, our banjoist and vocalist makes this work. While singing and playing one song, we signal him the next song and new key. Few can go from song to song, key to key, while singing and playing, with the ease Bill demonstrates here.

Strictly Instrumental (Hotlanta 023 CD)

A true test of the greatness of a song is "Does it stand on its own without the lyrics?" Well, here are twelve Dixieland classics that I bet you'll agree pass the test. In "Strictly Instrumental" we feature the musicianship of the guys as they let their instruments do the singing.
Here is Bill Rutan on Banjo, Don Erdman on Clarinet & Sax, Greg McLean on Cornet, Neal McElroy on Trombone, L.A. Tuten on Tuba, and Ray Trant on Drums.
